Queen’s Comedy Club is pleased to announce that yet another comedy legend; Phil Nichol will be taking to the stage on Wednesday the 11th February to kick off proceedings for another new year. Joining Phil to bring us into 2009 is the great Scottish comic Kevin Bridges with Colum McDonnell taking up compere duties one last time.
Phil Nichol
Having spent the last three years making a name for himself as an actor in the West End, Phil is returning to his roots, doing stand up. Phil's solo performances have earned him huge critical acclaim and many awards. He is a Tasmanian devil with a guitar, wickedly funny songs and superb improvisational skills.
"Skipping nimbly back and forth across the line that divides comedy and dementia" The Scotsman
Kevin Bridges
Despite having not set foot in a comedy club before his first open mic spot in 2004, Kevin’s natural gift for comedy has ensured he has become a regular at major comedy clubs up and down the country including The Comedy Store, The Glee Club, and Jongleurs. In 2006 he performed his debut solo show to critical acclaim at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival, in addition to Television & Radio work including appearances on The Comedy Store and The World Stands Up.
Colum McDonnell
What Colum McDonnell lacks in stature, he gains in laughter. The “wee” man from Dundalk has established himself on the Irish comedy circuit with an unusual outlook on life. A Queen’s Comedy favourite, this is Colum’s last night as compere before normal service is resumed with Colin Murphy. So Let Colum’s tales of magpies, trains and sinking ships leave you laughing your little wet pants off!

Wednesday 22nd October
Kevin Gildea
Sarah Millican
compere : Colin Murphy
open-spot: Liam Watson

Mandela Hall
Doors 9PM. Tickets £5 (Non Students Welcome)

Kevin Gildea

Kevin is a comedian, writer, actor, reader, walker and list maker. He’s performed his stand-up all over the shop - Shanghai, Bankok, Dubai, South Africa , Vietnam and Portloaise. Kevin is very funny and an audience member actually poohed in themselves during one of his gigs in Portlaoise. This is TRUE. He made appearances on television turning up as Fr. Cave on Fr. Ted as well as being on a million stand-up shows on a zillion tv stations.

Sarah Millican

This years if.comedy newcomer award-winner, takes to the Mandela stage for the second time in her short career. While relatively new to the circuit, Sarah has established herself as a crowd pleasing act with well written material and a gentle delivery style which disguises her cutting observations on life, love and moving back in with your parents. Armed with her wit, an abundance of smelly gel pens and a specially bought travel sponge, Sarah is about to venture beyond where her metro pass takes her and tell the country about her curtains. No, really.
